Popsicles are always fun to make—not to mention pretty simple, too. Look no further than these 3-ingredient blueberry yogurt swirl popsicles for a refreshing and satisfying summer treat.
Spoiler alert: I love making sweets. But I also love coming up with healthier dessert recipe ideas for my family. Add a little summertime heat wave and enter my homemade yogurt popsicles. You can make them all sorts of ways. Change up the yogurt (although in my opinion you can’t beat the creamy tartness of Greek yogurt—it’s fantastic in this peanut butter Greek yogurt frosting, too) or try different types of fruit for the puree. Add a little agave or honey, and then pop them in the freezer.
Tell Me About these Blueberry Yogurt Swirl Popsicles
- Texture: Smooth and creamy like a yogurt pop should be.
- Flavor: Bright and fresh with a bit of tartness.
- Ease: Can’t get much easier than 3 ingredients. The only “involved” step is blending the blueberries.
- Time: 10 minutes of prep, 6-8 hours to freeze.

Choosing the Right Ingredients & Popsicle Mold
- Popsicle Mold: Here’s the popsicle mold I own and love—great quality for the price. Same one I use for strawberry banana popsicles.
- Agave or honey? I’ve tried these with agave and honey and both work well. You don’t need much—just a little something to sweeten up the tart berries AND tart yogurt. If you’re using a sweeter fruit like dark sweet cherries, you can reduce the amount of liquid sweetener. Just go by your preferred taste.
- Flavored yogurt. I suggest using a flavored yogurt like vanilla, blueberry, or honey. I like using nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt, but a low fat or full fat variety works too. And it doesn’t necessarily have to be Greek yogurt—any yogurt you love works.
To Make Tie-Dye Pops
To achieve the tie-dye swirly look, mix the yogurt and blended blueberries together very lightly. Don’t fully combine them. You want patches of white yogurt and patches of violet blueberry specks.

Description
These super simple, protein-packed 3 Ingredient Blueberry Yogurt Swirl Popsicles hit the spot when the weather heats up! A gluten free treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (280g) blueberries*
- 2 Tablespoons agave or honey*
- 2 cups vanilla Greek yogurt (or any flavor)
Instructions
- Blend the blueberries in a food processor or blender on high speed until nearly liquified into a smoothie-like consistency. See above for a photo.
- Pour the thick blueberry liquid into a large bowl. Stir in the agave/honey. Add the yogurt and very gently mix everything together. If you want a tie-dye, swirly look to your popsicles—do not fully blend the yogurt and blueberries. You want those patches of white and blue. The mixture will be thick. Taste it. If you want it sweeter, you can add a little more agave/honey.
- Pour mixture evenly into each popsicle mold. If your popsicle mold has slots for sticks, you can insert them before freezing—if not, freeze for 2 hours, then put a wooden popsicle stick in the middle (that is what I did). Continue to freeze for an additional 4-6 hours or overnight.
- Run popsicle molds under warm water to easily remove. Eat on a hot day. Enjoy!

- Blueberries: You can be a little generous with the 2 cups of fruit (maybe closer to 2 and 1/4 cups or 315g). And try using another fruit! You can use around 2 cups of halved cherries, sliced strawberries, chopped peaches, blackberries, or raspberries.
- Sweetener: The agave or honey really makes the flavors of the tart fruit and tart yogurt pop. I much preferred the batch made with a little liquid sweetener over the test batch without. If you’re using a sweeter fruit mentioned above like dark sweet cherries, reduce down to 1 Tablespoon. Taste the mixture, then add a little more if you’d like.
Are you able to dip in chocolate and freeze? Is the Yogurt sustainable?
I’ve done that before with no issue, though that was for plain yogurt popsicles (without a blueberry swirl). I don’t see it being a problem though.
Question about Yogurt Popsicles recipe: I recently made Mango/Greek Yogurt popsicles (similar method and ingredients), and they came out very icy. Do you recommend adding a bit of vodka before freezing (as I do with ice cream), or is there any other way to avoid the icy texture with these kinds of fruit-yogurt popsicles?
Hi Sarah, We have never tried adding vodka to these popsicles. What type of yogurt are you using? The type/fat content can impact how creamy they taste. We use Chobani Greek yogurt in the pictured popsicles.
Would this recipe work if frozen in a plastic bowl in the freezer to be scooped and served in cups or on cones like ice cream?
Hi Calla, we don’t recommend it—it’s best frozen into shapes like the popsicle molds because it won’t scoop easily. If you’re looking for something scoopable for cones, here is our blueberry crumble ice cream!
Will frozen fruits work?
Hi Wendy, yes, you can use frozen fruits. Enjoy!
Would it be OK to add a little vanilla extract? (I can’t find vanilla greek yoghurt)
Absolutely, I would add 1/2 teaspoon.
Thank you! I just made a batch without and they are fantastic in this hot weather! I will try the next batch with vanilla 🙂
hi sally! instead of yogurt, would coconut milk be a good substitute? if so, would amount be the same or reduced? i would be using frozen mangoes in place of blueberries. ty 🙂
Hi Sonny! You’ll lose quite a bit of creaminess and structure without the yogurt. You could try canned coconut milk instead (the carton milk would likely be too thin) but just expect a slightly less creamy popsicle. Let us know how it goes!
I uaed the only yougart thay I had on hand, Dannon low fat vanilla.
The popsicles are very icy, not at all creamy. Because I used low fat? What type or brand of yougart do you recommend, if not Greek yougart?
Thanks for all you do!
Hi Irene, you can use any type of yogurt here, but the type/fat content can impact how creamy they taste. We use Chobani yogurt in the pictured popsicles, but feel free to use your favorite brand!
This recipe was really good. I used the same base but used blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries instead of just blueberries; and added a splash of lime juice and a squeeze of Stevia for a little more sweetness! It was amazing perfect for any occasion!
These look amazing for the kids and the adults. Can’t wait to start freezing. Thank you.
Hello! Do you think this recipe would work with frozen fruit istead of fresh? We always have big bags of organic strawberries and blueberries and mangos in our freezer!
Absolutely! Using frozen fruit would work wonderfully in this recipe.
Yum! Made these with strawberries and blueberries…nice swirl! The blueberries were a tad bland so, besides the honey, I added a tablespoon of Truvia Baking Blend for a perfect sweetness level (for us). I caught hubby licking the bowl after pouring the pops! 😉
I only have plain yogurt on hand can I add vanilla to it and if so how much.
Hi Nora! There’s no need to add vanilla if using plain yogurt. We hope you enjoy this popsicles!
I have a batch of strawberry/blueberry pops in the freezer right now. Pre-freezing they were delicious. Today temps will be in the high 80’s, so this will be perfect!
We made these a while back with both strawberries and blueberries, adding strawberry yogurt to the strawberries and vanilla coconut yogurt to the blueberries. Both were delicious. Last night we used this base recipe for a third combination of bananas, oranges, and fruit-on-the-bottom pineapple yogurt. That combo didn’t even require sweetener, the fruit in the yogurt added just enough to make it perfect. We love that this is a healthy recipe that we can make for our daughter that she can eat any time of day, and we get to put aside concerns regarding scheduling a dessert due to sugar content. Thank you!
nice recipe but i have one big question. how long can yogurt popsicles stay in freezer? i made way too many and there is no way i can eat them all in one day …
I forgot about a batch and had them in the freezer for over a month and they tasted just fine. Enjoy!
I made this recipe using an ice tray and toothpicks because I don’t have a popsicle mold . Needless to say I will be ordering one because this will now be a staple in my house. It was soooo good! Can’t wait to try other fruits.
This is a very good popsicle try it
Black bean burgers OMG it is fantastic and not mushy great flavor I used MaePloy sweet chili sauce and it was a hit
I really enjoyed this recipe and since I had all things on hand I made black berry peach and strawberry.with yogurts to match some wanted sweeter I used honey on 2 flavors and Aguave on one so next time I will add a bit more sweetener but over all Yummy thank you
Wonderful recipe and perfect for the summer!
it looking so yummy thanks for sharing.
YUM! I’ve made these with blueberries and now I’m making strawberry ones! My kids request them every day, a couple times a day lol! I had no honey so I used maple syrup.. amazing! Thanks again!
These popsicles are delicious! And they look great. Can’t believe they are so easy to make, and the ingredients are quite health. These are perfect cold treats for kids, and I can see them making regular appearances at my kid’s parties.
I’m so happy you enjoy these, Christina! You can play with the flavors and always have a variety of fun healthy snacks on hand!
Love your popsicles! Can you come up with an awesome fudgicle please?
Delicious!!! Thank you so much for the easy recipe! I can see how easy it would be to swap ingredients out depending on needs/tastes…great base recipe.
I made this 3 Ingredient blueberry yogurt swirl popsicles for the super bowl party and it was a crowd favorite! Amazing photos btw. Thanks for sharing!
I made these for my toddler with plain greek yogurt and overriped banana for sweetness and a touch of almond butter and they turned out amazing! Thanks for another delicious recipe Sally!
I love the idea of adding almond butter and bananas! Sounds like a yummy combo. How much almond butter did you use?
I use a tablespoon or two 🙂
Went over to my friend’s for dinner and what did she have for dessert but your fabulous pops. The whole table devoured them!
These were delicious! I made with blueberries and while I absolutely NEVER tweak your recipes, I’m just not a big yogurt taste/texture person, so, adding 2 packets of Splenda to the mixture made them a little sweeter for me. My husband and toddler loved these. 🙂
