I am by no means a baker or even a cook, but I do love to eat Italian food. This bread was perfect for Sunday gravy and a leftover sausage sandwich on Monday. Thank you for sharing your recipes. I will keep following and cooking!

Hi Kathleen, You can make smaller rolls, yes. Bake time will depend on the size you make them. Bake until the crust is golden brown and when you tap the loaves they sound hollow. Or, here is our dinner rolls recipe.

Would there be an easy way to convert the loaves into dough balls for individual rolls? Just slice and tuck the end but bake at same temp and bake until hollow? (Do dinner rolls take around 20min as well?)

I’ve been wanting to make bread but everything I found required a starter until I found this recipe and let me tell you, it is perfection and SO EASY to make. I made the mistake of being too excited and didn’t let it rest 45 min before getting placed in the oven. It is still amazing! Made the jalapeño cheddar version and I cannot wait to try more!

Hi Joyce, if you store in a container or zipped-top bag, leave the corner popped/open just a bit to let some air in. That will keep the crust crispier for a bit longer. Glad you enjoyed the bread!

However I have a question. Do you have any tips pm how to store the bread so the crust stays crispy?

Hi Emily, we generally advise against halving yeast recipes. We’d recommend making the recipe as is and freezing the other half. See recipe Notes for details! We’re unsure of the exact time for a smaller boule, so keep a close eye on it. An instant-read thermometer will be helpful for determining when it’s done.
